I've read of love

I've read of love
That hopeless yearning
The primal urge to join another

Kissing their skin
Seizing the moment
Boundless steps of silken joy

Seeing the light
Swaying together
A pair of graceful dancers

Passionate fire
Love grows from this cell
This speck this egg of promise

So does love last?
As written in books
With you I will take that chance

  1. Sweet, the thought and the poem in full. Very seductive.

  2. Take a chance egg. Enjoy all the brilliant moments of it.It does not have to last. That sort of attitude is like saying I must never leave the house in case I get run over by a passing car.

  4. A succinct and skilful poem Old Egg - like all your wisdom condensed into a little egg of knowing..who cares if it lasts as long as it's enjoyed

  6. I echo Jae Rose's words. These words come from a knowing heart, one who understands that even if forever is not part of the equation, the experiences of now will stay with us for always.

  10. I do think love is worth taking a chance on. As Truedessa said, it is better than living regrets for not giving it a try.

  11. A beautiful proposition, and it is what we do...take a chance...have faith and trust. But really it is living in those moments of love that makes it last, or so I have noticed these many years.

  12. "With you I will take that chance." A wonderful conclusion. Funny, as I was reading, I kept remembering our high school principal teasing our class about the "googly-eyed, two-headed monsters" he saw driving past the school........kids, sitting close together, all aglow....LOL.

  19. Ah - the quest for love, stirs the embers of youthful joy in all ages ... perhaps less ardent with time, but lovelier in its own way - for not only does love last: it becomes deeper.
