Going back to work
The rain still poured down
We both shared your umbrella
I'd forgotten mine
I blame the weather
Much more than your pleading eyes
Going home with you
It was strength of mind
Seeing morning's cloudy dawn
That look on your face
Then you smile at me
And remember what we did
Both bathed in kisses
You now grasp my hand
Both sharing your umbrella
Going back to work

Waiting for the god of thunder
Blossom on the nut tree
And burst of mixed color
In my wee garden bed
Oh isn't nature kind?
I simmer during rain
Pulling labels off jam jars
It matters that I'm stuck
Thor has won once again
The garden weeps with tears
Long chains of clouds storm on
Lightning punches hard
Lawn's surface is a lake
Storm god now clears his throat
His rumble now abates
Sun winks his eye at me
Behind white cloud he peeps
Blossom on the nut tree
And burst of mixed color
In my wee garden bed
Oh isn't nature kind?

Gentle falling rain
Blue sky this morning
But soon though clouds filled the sky
First white then turned grey
Sad they seemed to be
Soon they wept tears from the sky
Gentle falling rain
As I stayed indoors
Happy trees waved in the sky
My plants also grinned
As clouds blew away
Birds now swept down from the sky
For a welcome drink

Tap at the window
A tap, tap, tap at the window, I hear it once again
Who is out there, what do they want? It's driving me insane
The roof is creaking as the wind howls into a raging gale
I look at her, she turns around and her face has gone quite pale
The dog cowers in his bed, the cat has now disappeared
There's a mighty crash now things are much worse than we feared

Dawn's light
Dawn's light through the window shines
After a stormy night
When the wind blew so wild
And the rain teemed down
I hugged my pillow like a child
But finally fell asleep
The sun rose this morning
Now birds sing happily
Garden looks a treat
I can breathe fresh air
With great joy my heart does beat
As I open the window wide

Thunder boomed
Thunder boomed, lightning flashed
Splintering the grey skies
Peeling back the dark clouds
Fleeing now from our eyes
All men and beasts cowered
Bruised now by nature's wrath
Now deluded they would
Escape a sudden bath
Brims of hats they now dripped
And watercourses flowed
Ducks relished their present
Or so the story goes
Nature took her revenge
Blue blanks of sky now neared
Sun emerged unruffled
Her boon of warmth appeared
