The sun hides his face

Chirping awakes me
Amber dawn heralds the day
Night's secrets now hide

The sun's wide grin smiles
Nature speaks with one voice
I worm out of bed

Stop, my sweet wife says
You're leaving me here to rot?
She fosters that look

Life's not that easy
Marriage taught me a great deal
The sun hides his face

  7. In agreement with JR. Your use of worm is fantastic! I can read the wife's look a couple different ways, and I appreciate that.

It about sums up everything life has to offer. A learning process in the beginning and an education throughout life.

  15. The story of the previous night hides but it may linger during the day. Staying in bed all day can be a good idea too, Robin
