I awake to a hush
the cold not yet
gone
on this frosty
morn
with remnants of
snow about
A few minutes
more
close my eyes
again
and dream of warm
days
with sun on the
window pane
The whisper of
spring
larks call from
above
the coo of the
dove
new blossom to
warm my heart
Although that is
good
There’s still
digging to do
and manure to
spread
and that old
mower to check
You stir by my
side
and cuddle me
close
and arouse my
desire
to stay in bed
for a bit

Spring is a whisper away, but cannot be heard, for winter is still lingering, as it should, until later this month, and then, if it still is here, I shall scream at it, to disappear!!

So lovely and warm.......I wanted to lie in a bit this morning, but I had a bossy golden retriever leaping at the side of my bed, wanting to go Out. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteThat feeling of staying in bed instead of going out. Anticipating spring is always a good thing Robin
