It was boiling hot
An Australian summer
Not a crow in sight
Mad rush to car parks
T’was the holiday season
Tempers are rising
Some seeking shadows
Others casting their garments
Blind to sun’s fury
No ripples at sea
Beaches swarming with bathers
Shimmering sands
Now laughter erupts
Parents paint their children
Soothing sun lotion
High in their lookouts
Patrols sweep the horizon
For swimmers in trouble

I am not sure if that would be heaven or hell..there is something to be said for a cold, grey beach (bah-humbug and all!)
ReplyDeleteI like a nice warm deserted beach myself, Oldegg, I don't really like the hustle and bustle of a packed one.
ReplyDeleteLuv the mood and the interlude of suprise painting

ReplyDeleteTempers are rising
Aptly captured the psyche of the holiday season. Mindful though tempers might fly right in the house even before venturing out. Such was the frenzy!
