The wind whispered

The wind whispered gently in my ear
Come walk one last time without a fear
Tread these paths in the forest deep
Hear the streams sing and the birds that cheep
Breathe in life's spirits meant to be
Soon it will be taken away from thee

Without your kind the Earth can manage
Your fancy ways and gilded carriage
The smoke, your waste, your destructive cast
Soon comes the end of your days at last
You've gone too far your futures grey
We've been watching, hurting, fading away

But we'll survive the torment, not you
Earth will replenish there's much to do
The whales will sing in the oceans deep
And the Arctic bears no more will weep
The forests now will sigh with relief
And we'll shed not one sad tear at your grief

  1. The forests now will sigh with relief
And we'll shed not one sad tear at your grief

The mending ways will take effect with time. One need not be too crestfallen over it. There is hope yet!

  2. Whistles!!❤️💜 This is absolutely gorgeous writing, Robin🤗 love the peaceful and serene image here "Tread these paths in the forest deep. Hear the streams sing and the birds that cheep" and also how you emphasize upon the significance of maintaining nature's beauty near the end. Beautifully penned. Thank you so much for participating at Prompt Nights and for your constant love and support ❤️💜

    Lots of love,

  3. It is difficult to cry for one's torturer, especially while one is too hungry and too sickly to do anything but fight to stay alive.

I love this idea of time making things better, as it will... And at the same time, I feel sad that as a species we have been too stupid and too selfish to be left around to enjoy the rebirth.

  4. I just found your blog through Gina from Day Dream Believer and it was really hard not to cry. It's so true the way we torment this planet, with our greed, our total lack of self restrain, our disregard for the rights of all of the inhabitants of Planet Earth.
I guess all we can do is teach the young to respect and protect this beautiful, amazing, glorious, enchanting, unique sphere, floating around in the vast emptiness of this Universe, if they don't pay attention, the lessons Nature will impart will be severe and final and the tears we shed will be in vain.
Sure Earth will have a rebirth, but we are not going to be here to enjoy it and we deserve nothing more than that!

  5. Too true....though I hope the Earth Spirit will be aware that some of us tried just a little XXX
