Darkening my mind

Our nest of romance
This abode of happiness
My impulsive touch

The warmth of our love
Your passionate eyes
Hearts full of desire

Cup running over
The laughter of our children
Such contented ease

Leaves fall in autumn
A cruel sprinkling of sad tears
Darkening my mind

Cold winter of loss
My mind full of sad longing
This house of sorrow

  1. If you have had a full nest an empty nest must feel very cold and hollow...perhaps like magpies we can fill it with other treasures..they will never match up of course but perhaps some offer comfort..a touching piece Old Egg

  2. I have to say that i've become a fan of your poetry. You express everyday feelings with such grace and authenticity using such simple words that it fills the heart. I always read and re-read your work many times over and end up leaving silently. Today i thought i ought to express my appreciation. Sir, i love your poetry. Thanks for sharing it. :)
