Marriage à-la-mode

She looked in his eyes

Her devotion was so clear

Rings on their fingers

Oh yes, he had faults

At first she was indulgent

But not any more

Smug look on her face

The divorce came through at last

He drowned his sorrows

  1. I know someone who went through a divorce recently, after a rather short marriage. It was about as you describe.

  3. I think the smug look on her face trumps his faults. That would make me sick. Poor guy!

  4. Things can come to an end as abrupt as it had started. Sad are those that lingered on for years with all the sufferings but yet sustained. Nicely old egg!

  5. Let's hope his consolation drink was a good strong ale and not a white wine which so many men are drinking these days as first choice.

  7. It's true: many things we prefer not to notice until they become the pitfall of life...

  8. Good use of the words. The way to ensure a long term relationship without a divorce is to not get married and if you are still together when you get really old ,you can marry then:)
