I'm a fool
I'm a fool with such heartache
I have had it since she chucked me
Left now with a cargo of grief
As she chose him, don't you see?
It's not easy to forget her
But Spring blossoms they come what may
While the rain clouds still cry for me
To comfort one more gloomy day
Softening the earth around me
Giving a sweet smell of flowers
Already spurting from the ground
A promise for my lonely hours
The bright sun shines all about me
Just to complete the magic act
The office blonde just winked at me
No, I'm not kidding, it's a fact

It sounds like he is not 'letting the grass grow under his feet.' Mourning for the lost one is over....and interest in the 'office blonde' is reinvigorating his spirit. Ha.
ReplyDeleteLove that bright sun and the 'fact' :)
ReplyDeleteI giggled at the end. I'm glad he was able to find a way to get past his sadness.
ReplyDeleteLOL...
ReplyDeleteA good thing when you can look forward again...
ReplyDeleteOff with the old, on with the new! This one made me smile.
ReplyDeleteThe ending made me smile...........I always enjoy your love stories.
ReplyDeleteAh so he is able to rebound easily....that is a healthy letting go.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on this - loved the little twist of humor at the end.
ReplyDeleteThe closing made me smile :D Beautifully done, Robin!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad she winked! There is light at the end of the tunnel!
ReplyDeleteAnna :o]
Oh well, that’s a great way to re-start again, Robin
ReplyDeleteI'd watch out for that wink, if I were you!
ReplyDeleteThe end was perfectly lovely. Things are never too gloomy, if we hold on to a bit of hope (or a wink).
