Longing

Whispers in my heart
Love letters from you to me
With many kisses

Remembering you
I so want to breathe you in
Lay my head on you

I miss you so much
You have gone so far away
Out of my reach

The fir trees whisper
They know that I pine for you
How can I catch up?

  17. Lovely. Interesting question at the end; makes me wonder if the piece is about growth or longing.

    1. It is longing of course Archna, invoked by the scent of the pines. But you guessed that didn't you? My wife and I were bird watchers and often found ourselves totally alone in forests and the pine scent recalls that.

  18. This is a heavy poem yet it feels light to read it. It's the kind that evokes more emotion as it sinks in. Well done.
