In Night's Kiss

Stars they talk to me
I am a creature of the night
Darkness is my friend

The moon watches on
For we are both nocturnal
She approves of me

Shadows dance around
Some find them fraught with danger
Grimly seek the light

No one sees me here
The shades of my past are safe
Bathing in night's kiss

I hear the whispers
Some think me honorable
Others fear my tread

  1. I've always loved to go about in the night. On camping trips in particular I still wake up in the middle of the night, like I did as a child, and go wandering.

  2. When I was a young woman, people constantly told me I shouldn't wander around at night, or if I had to be out at night I should stick to well lighted streets. Instead, I headed to the dark alleys. No one ever bothered me in a dark alley. They'd run away instead.

  6. I've stopped wandering in the night pretty much here in Texas, since I stepped on a squiggly little critter that scared me to death. Of course, I could carry a flashlight! ;-)

Threats from external sources can come from many directions. One ought to be extra careful. Truly said oldegg!
