What magnificent impulse

What magnificent impulse

did I have that day

when seeing you in the park

I clenched my fists

as I walked up to you

and introduced myself

as I never believed that anyone

since the creation of the world

could be so stunningly beautiful

and it suddenly hit me that I was in love with you

when I saw your smoky eyes emit a craving

a hunger that was for me alone.

there were no precise words of love

for what need did we have for that

as I could feel the rhythm of your heart

and we both knew that even a few feet

were an unbearable distance apart.

you won’t let me kneel before you as neither of us

must be subservient to the other

as our being together

is a visible

yet invisible proof

of our finite

yet infinite love.

  3. Lovely love story. I hope the love was infinite rather than finite.

  12. very tender. Nicely wordled. The clenched fists of nervousness gave me a real glimpse into the courage to approach the beauty.

  13. Reminds me of couples who take out the 'Thou shalt obey out of vows' - as there is no need when respect is mutual.

Here's hoping that you will always have that spark.

Thanks for your visit. I think romance will be delayed in my story - as evil has to be conquered first ;)

  14. Love is as much about keeping that distance as it is about drawing close.

  15. All will be well as long as they keep that distance between them as sacred space.
