Ahead of you


I am ahead of you
Those were my last words
Just moments before my execution
Thinking that humour was apt
As a final cutting statement
As the crowd gaped on
All laughing at my misfortune
I made a clean break
And doffed my peaked cap
To wave goodbye quite unaware
Of the end of time
