You too have gone

Winter wind whistles
All the leaves have now fallen
And you too have gone

You were my summer
That glorious warmth of my life
With such sweet perfume

How game we were then
Nude of the deserted beach
How we bathed and laughed

We explored the world
And discovered each other
Guided by our love

I still breathe you in
After so many long years
My tears flow freely

  2. The tears somehow melted into the sea...perhaps like the waves your being together will be eternal..i hope all good things come after sadness

  3. The lines your wrote remind me of Neruda's own sad lines in "Tonight I Can Write":

Love is so short, forgetting is so long. / Because through nights like this one, I held her in my arms. / My soul is not satisfied that it has lost her.

Different styles yet same feelings of sadness & longing you both conjure through your lines. I like this!

  5. This is such a beautiful & poignant piece... to lose someone you love so dearly can be excruciating.. and all we are left with are memories.. which help us move on.

  11. A summer love is hard to forget it lingers with each breath, but there can still be a winter love that comes in the from of a snowflake drifting from the heaven..

  21. O, this is very romantic...'You were my summer', style reminds me the songs of French singer Joe Dessen...like the use of nouns as verbs....very nostalgic..
