I squirmed in my seat

I squirmed in my seat and checked my watch again.
This date to attend an amateur talent show was driving me mad.
My wife was glued to the performances with her eyes shining.
I groaned as the next act came on to torture me.
Finally my wife noticed my discomfort and patted my hand.
"It's only a few songs more" she said as I raised my eyebrows.

  1. You may just want to get out of there but it couldalso be the anxiety of wwaiting for your turn to perform! Thanks for linking in! This is a different take on the cue.

  2. I admire you for attending such an event with her, Old Egg, when it clearly wasn't something to your liking. Love is like that, it endures, and yes... checking your watch all the while. I've been there and done that too... can we go home now? :-)
