The Young Lovers
He glanced toward her
Her eyes captivated him
They were full of life
He loved her sweet smile
Sparkling with the bloom of youth
Would she notice him?
She nodded shyly
When he asked her on a date
And her cheeks reddened
"Too soon" they all said
When he told that he'd proposed
For they were both sure
On the wedding day
They could see just each other
But nobody else
Joyfully for them
A gleam was in her bright eyes
When a baby moved
Marriage a delight
Stars for them were their children
Seas of memories
How the years have passed
Yet they look at each other
Just like young lovers

What a sugar rush of memory...sweet but not saccharine...slightly tainted with the thief of time...but love persists...as it always should..
