How about the blue one?

He had put on his dark blue suit
And was still tying his striped tie
Meanwhile she stared in the mirror
Wondering what on earth to wear
She could just see his reflection
He didn't really want to go
With his hungry eyes on her
Meaning he'd get less not more of her
She was so glad she had found him

"So what do you think" she then asked
Pointing to the gowns on the bed
"How about the blue one?" he asked
"To match your tie, why not the red?"
Her eyes twinkled in the mirror
"A red tie makes me look angry
So no one else will dance with me
And I'll be the wallflower" he moaned
She laughed, it just didn't matter

  1. Whistles!! 💜❤ I love the hint of humor here in this elegant and romantic poem. To be able to find someone who will love you for no reason, and to shower that person with reasons, that is by far the ultimate happiness. Beautifully executed. Thank you so much for participating at Prompt Nights and for your constant love and support 💜❤

    Lots of love,

  3. Your poem made me all warm and fuzzy inside, Robin. Like Gina, I also love "this little moment"... and the nudge towards remembering the things that really matter.

  4. I enjoyed sharing this moment; the feeling of their special intimacy in such an ordinary situation. The reading created a truly feel good moment

Didn't matter because she would have him all for herself and would be the only one to dance with him. Or didn't matter as she could not be bothered what would happen to him all night. Either way it could not be fun!

  8. A beautiful and romantic write! This line made me smile "Wondering what on earth to wear" because of course, she could just wear her smile; he's already smitten. :-)
