I hunger for her
I came home early
Sally was in the kitchen
And called out "I'm here"
"What are you doing?"
Finding her stood at the stove
Brushing hair from face
She is beautiful
Wooden spoon in hand ready
But accepts a kiss
I look at the pot
"It's carrot and ginger soup"
She says happily
I do love my wife
She satisfies all my needs
I hunger for her

ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Charming. I can imagine both of my grandmothers in Sally's place... Perhaps me too? But then I never make the same soup twice if I'm making it from scratch...
ReplyDeleteI'm making onion soup today. Half of the onions sauteed, half boiled in the veg stock with some carrot and celery. And some spices. :)
Your poem is yummy. And in reality I Luv carrot/ginger soup. But, pumpkin is my favorite soup.
ReplyDeleteLuv the mix if romantics and culinary delights you penned
