Good morning day
What can I say?
Husband's away
My day to play
He was grumpy
Made me jumpy
Called me lumpy
Now I'm frumpy
Shouldn't bother
Got another
He's a mover
Perfect lover
Oh what a day
What can I say?
Husband's away
My day's okay!

I love the way your perky rhymes evoke the mood of the woman in the image, Robin.
ReplyDeleteThis monologue is really not far from the truth at times. I can see how she would appreciate the break.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder she looks so dreamy, sitting there, imagining what the day will bring, lol!
ReplyDeleteWhat a naughty woman! And looking so innocent and all! A good write :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha I love the mood in this poem 💜 no wonder she looks so carefree!
ReplyDeleteAh, the little times of alone are so blessed.
ReplyDeleteHa ha, this is good. Remember the old CW song, "Thank God and Greyhound (a bus line in the states) she's gone?" One of my best joys was when my ex and her latest husband moved away, to West Texas, about 800 miles away.

lol...great framing although I would hate to be thought of that way. She does seem pretty carefree in the picture so maybe you hit it right on the head. Great job!!
ReplyDeleteA few of them this way when the 'cat's away'. But for most it's wishful thinking. They'll grab their man when he's back. Love tbe humor Robin!
ReplyDeleteHank
I love the bouncy rhyme in your piece!
ReplyDeleteGood for her! Sometimes you just gotta take a lover... :o]
