The Apology

I’m sorry Mummy

I’ve put the cat in the trash

I can’t get him out

I’m so sorry Dad

Didn’t score a goal today

I will try harder

I’m sorry girly

I think we’ve ought to cool it

Perhaps later on

I’m sorry darling

T’was only the once, promise

Won’t happen again

I am so sorry

Yes, I could have done better

Well perhaps next time

  1. HELLO!
MY POPPA (GRANDAD) IS KEITH FROM KEITHS RAMBLINGS. HE TOLD ME THAT YOU ARE ONE OF THE BEST WRITTERS THAT HE HAS EVER SEEN. HE RECCOMMENDED YOUR SITE TO ME. I AM ONLY TEN YEARS OLD AND HE SAYS THAT I WRITE EXTREMELY WELL FOR MY AGE. ALTHOUGH MY WRITING WILL NEVER BE AS GOOD AS YOURS OR POPPAS.
    THANKS,
    OLIVER HILLMAN

  5. It seemed strange clicking on Sunday Scribblings and not seeing your story! What a delightful poem though! Thanks for visiting my grandson's site - hope you didn't mind me suggesting he drop in on you.

  6. So much that we apologize for either doesn't matter to the ones we apologize to, hurts us more than anyone, or is so bad that an apology doesn't cut it.

  7. This was sad in a way, because while owning up to ones mistakes is always right, it can also become a way of life for someone who is taught that they never quite measure up to expectations. Sorry needs to be rooted in what one intends to do so that things will go differently next time. As in the case of "sorry" spouses, so often that isn't true. Good, thought provoking piece here Old Egg!

  9. At first I read it as a kind of hodgepodge, but then I considered it to be a single narrator. It seems to work quite well that way for me.

    Very nice.

  10. Tiz the way of life these days...do what you want...appologize and do it again. I'm sorry, I not longer accept appologies.
