Unlikely words from a doctor

“How can I apologise enough for my dereliction in duty, in prescribing the incorrect medication for you over the last few years?”

Don’t expect to hear that!

The best I got was from a well liked doctor who said to me, “I think there was something in the Hippocratic Oath about not doing the patient any harm. Shall we try this one instead?!”

  1. Doctors. It appears at times we are at their mercy.

  4. I once made a medication error which fortunately was not serious. Rather unsettling nonetheless. (I'm a nurse.)

  5. One of the most useful classes I ever took was anatomy & physiology. It hasn't saved me entirely from medical missteps, but it gave me the tools to do my own research and enough doctor-lingo to talk to them on their own level.

  6. This is interesting! Nowadays doctors fight to maintain their 'innocence' especially with high priced litigation! Nicely OE!
